Exploring Life and Medicine with Dr. Chen: A Conversation

In the world of medicine, it's easy to overlook the human stories behind our doctors! Today, we have the pleasure of delving into the life and experience of Dr. Chen, a dedicated family physician who we’re thrilled to have at Central Family Practice.

The Journey to Medicine

Dr. Chen's path into medicine was shaped by familial influence and personal experiences - growing up with a pediatrician father in Taiwan, she spent significant time in his clinic, absorbing the intricacies of healthcare from a young age. Dr. Chen eventually found her own calling in family medicine, drawn by the opportunity to care for patients of all ages and backgrounds. Her background in Osteopathic Medicine also helps treat the person as a whole, not just symptoms and illnesses.

Passion and Focus

Within our practice, Dr. Chen's focus covers addressing mental health concerns like depression and anxiety to providing comprehensive women's health services. However, it's the holistic approach of family medicine for all ages that truly resonates with her and is her primary focus, allowing her to witness the growth and evolution of families over time.

Dr. Chen's international background also adds a wonderful addition to our practice. Fluent in Mandarin, she welcomes patients from diverse cultural backgrounds, bridging language barriers and fostering a sense of inclusivity at CFP.

Beyond the Practice

Outside the clinic, Dr. Chen is a devoted mother to two young children. Balancing the demands of motherhood with her professional commitments, she finds joy in planning future travels and trips both across America and Internationally, a passion she developed long before the arrival of her little ones, whom she now gets to share the joy of traveling with!

Health Tips from Dr. Chen

For parents struggling with children's allergies or congestion, Dr. Chen recommends the use of a humidifier, especially during allergy seasons. Additionally, she emphasizes the importance of digital detox before bedtime, advocating for a screen-free hour to promote restful sleep and alleviate anxiety.

In healthcare, it's not just about diagnoses and prescriptions; it's about forging connections, understanding stories, and empowering individuals as well as families to lead healthier lives. And in Dr. Chen, we find a shining example of this holistic approach to medicine—a practitioner whose knowledge, experience, and kindness leaves an indelible mark on her patients, at all stages of their lives.
